5/25/2023 0 Comments Remote desktop licensing manager![]() Set the limit for active for Idle sessions to 1hr (Idle Timeout). Enable it and set it to 1 hr for disconnected session. Go to Session Time Limits within Remote Desktop Session Host. Modify disconnect timeouts as required.Set the RDS License mode to per user to match the CALs.Edit the GPO – > Computer Configuration – > Policies – > Administrative Templates – > Windows components – > Remote Desktop Services – > Remote Desktop Session Host – > Licensing – > Use the specified Remote Desktop license servers – > Enable and type the FQDN of the license server hostname.Go to Group Policy Management console in the Domain Controller and create a GPO and link to Server OS OU which has the Server OS workloads with the RDS session host role and point to this RDS License Server.Refresh the licensing manager and review the configuration.Now this server is added to the Terminal Server License Servers AD group.Add the License server name by changing the object type to Computers and adding the License Sever Computer Name to it.Go to Domain Controller – > Users and Computers – Locate the builtin Terminal Service Licenses Group. ![]() Choose the required product version for us here will be 2019 CALs.Choose the enterprise agreement number and type it in. Right on Server and install the licenses.Right Click on License server and Activate the account.Open the the console and change the scope to Domain (we are using it for only Domain machines here).
